Our Story

Great Job Moving and Storage is family owned and operated business. The company was founded in 2010 in Virginia . At that time, I was moving our customers by myself with my cousin. I received a lot of real moving experience. I understood what our customers expect from the moving crews, how to properly protect our customer’s belongings, furniture and how to prevent any damages.

We believed in a simple philosophy. If we are honest with people and provide excellent service, customers will rely on us and trust us…

And our philosophy paid off. We now have an infrastructure including, a 5000 sq ft warehouse, 8 trucks, 25 employees, a proven and dependable network of nationwide carriers and a government contract with the Department of Defense.

Great Job was a breath of fresh air compared to the first company. Mark was the foreman and not only does he have strong communication skills, he is actually a person who demonstrates common sense, leadership AND job competence.  Everything was moved with care, and proper wrapping. No items were lost or damaged.  One small complaint:  I specifically asked all of the movers to take ALL Christmas items  to the basement.  I found unboxed Christmas items in another room.  Other than that, I highly recommend this company and specifically, Mark from the front office! read less

They had... read moreI used this company for a move from DC to Maryland and was very satisfied with my experience. They had the best quote out of any of the other companies I called. The scheduling process was easy and they called a couple days before to confirm the move. The day of the move they came within their 2 hour scheduled period and were very communicative. They worked quickly and took good care of my belongings. I'm so happy I hired movers because it made the process so much easier and less stressful.

Also a plus, they offer an essential workers discount which no other company did. It's great to see a company that has that level of respect for essential workers. I would recommend Great Job for your moving needs. read less

					We were moving just a few blocks but needed to do so on a strange timeline where we might have... read moreWe were moving just a few blocks but needed to do so on a strange timeline where we might have needed all of our belongings to be stored for one night as we returned the keys to our home before getting the keys to the new one. We needed assistance with both packing and moving. I called for a quote and found the representative very professional, and he explained all of our options. 

Our plans changed several times, and every time I called I was ably assisted by whichever team member was on duty. 

The packing and moving crews were on time, friendly, and careful with our belongings. 

The move went as expected with no surprises. 

I did get one other quote before selecting GJ, and GJ was more affordable. I'm glad I made this choice! read less

					While ultimately we had to postpone our move, our experience with G & J from start to finish was picture... read moreWhile ultimately we had to postpone our move, our experience with G & J from start to finish was picture perfect.  They stood out from all the other moving companies I interviewed (quite a lot) -- in particular Jason, one of their team members.

It was going to be a last minute move and Jason made the setup extremely easy.  He was a consummate professional at all times.

When -- again last minute -- the move was postponed, Jason worked with us to return our entire deposit immediately (shocking!) and took care of everything -- all the while with his usual pleasant and accommodating demeanor. 

Because of our experience with them, not only will we use this company for all of our future moves, but we are recommending them to anyone we know who is moving.

Unfortunately you can't find this level of customer service anywhere these days...so when our family does, we stick with the company that provides it! read less

Friendly down to earth crew. Charged well over quote and no furniture was reassembled. Never again. read less
